Infographic - Canon Facts

My infographic is all about my favorite camera company, Canon. Canon has been making cameras for many years, and I have had the amazing opportunity to own a few of their excellent cameras. I adore the color palette in this design. It is very different than what I would normally do, but I think the color palette gives a little bit of a vintage appeal to it. I hate that the top left corner has little in it, and I am also not a huge fan of the text flow. I would change some of the placements of the facts. This project was a great learning experience for me.

Literary Illustration - The Outcast

In this Literary Illustration, I was given the assignment to create whatever I desired, but it had to be from a quote of my choice. I chose a quote by a fantastic writer, Ann Voskamp, which states, “In a world addicted to speed, I blur the moments into one unholy smear.” The point of the image was to have a main character (the pink-haired woman) as the focal point. Everything around her was to be blurred out as if smeared or showing movement. I drew the entire image by hand, scanned it into the computer, photoshoped it, and then brought it into Adobe Illustrator. I have a few things I would like to fix in this project. I’m not sure if I am satisfied with the girl’s face color. I would probably change it to more of an off-white instead of a solid white. I also feel as if the bottom of the illustration is unfinished and needs more work. I love the top, but there are a few pieces on the top left edge that I would like to fix. Also, some of the hairpieces on the characters, especially the girl on the left, need some adjustments. I believe the quote correlates to the image quite nicely, and I love the color palette of this design.

Photorealism - Ben & Jerry's

In this Photorealism project, I was to take a photo of a product and recreate it from scratch. I chose Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. I primarily used the mesh tool and the pen tool for this project. I love how the ice cream cup came out. However, there are quite a few things I wish to change on this. I would like to fix up the edges of the ice cream can, as well as the actual cookie dough ice cream to make it look more realistic. The shadows need some more work as well. I would also like to completely scratch the cookies out and redo them completely. Overall, I think that the composition of this work is quite clean and effectively portrays Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
